Almost too good

Poking fun at religion is oh so easy but this film God Squad doesn't take the easy route. There are no lazy jokes to be found. This is a smart satire and incredibly hilarious lampooning of "spirit filled" Christians, namely, Bible thumping Pentecostal "Gift of the Holy Spirit" types. Frankly, it scared me at first. I grew up in that world. I have to say that it's actually one of the best parody films I've ever seen. If you're not paying attention, you might think that this is actually a Christian film and that the filmmakers are trying to convert you, despite all of the filthy cuss words. Yeah, that's how well the satire works. The second half of this 30 minute movie left my mouth hanging open the first time I saw it. I've watched it many times since. Beautifully done.
