One of the best horror/comedies ever made
What really makes this movie work is a fantastic screenplay. It doesn't rely on fart jokes and gross out scenes to affect the viewer, if gives us an odd assortment of memorable characters and puts them in a crazy situation that they fight to survive. It perfectly plays off the horror movie stereotypes but still manages to surprise you. I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, Kottentail is one of the best horror/comedies ever made. If you're a fan of B movies and are willing to overlook a low budget, you must add this one to your collection because you'll want to watch it over and over again.
Funny low budget movie...
"Kottentail" is through and through fully low budget, and the movie makers do not try to hide it. In fact, they utilize it to the point where it becomes a spoof and the whole absurdity and extremity of it all actually makes it fun to watch.
The characters are right in tune with the rest of the movie, caricatures, over-the-top, often speaking with awfully phony accents, and delivering bad dialogue. But again, it works in tune with the atmosphere of the movie.
Even the effects are as to be expected. For example, the ears that Hans grew, it was LARP elven plastic ears put on his real ears. Yes, it was as clear as day. Especially because they didn't even apply Foundation or anything to match the actors real skin tone. And the sound that Kottentail made, it was just hilarious.
While "Kottentail" will not be a movie that appeals to the mass audience, it is still a fun spoofy movie that is so outrageously bad that it is just sheer fun to witness. I enjoyed it for what it was.
As a closing statement, then I will say that "Kottentail" is the type of movie that you watch once and never again. It just doesn't have enough meat on it to sustain multiple viewings.
silly wabbit
The film takes place around Easter, so if you're looking for an Easter holiday horror movie, this is one of the few.
Most of the women are large-breasted and show a lot of cleavage, dressing down to their underwear on several occasions. One shot of nudity appears to have been taken from another movie, though there is a pre-shower scene where the nudity isn't a double. Oddly, one sex scene has the woman dressed in a white terrycloth robe.
Oh Man I Wanted So Bad To Like This
Catacomb of Creepshows 20 (of 50) or Lets hop to it
Very purposely cheesy & younger-in-cheek, this film charmed me from the get go. I enjoyed most of the gags and actually found myself caring about what happened next. So if you're ever in the mood for a cheesy Easter-themed horror film with killer bunnies and comic book transitions than this is one of the best of those movies. And most definitely one of the standout titles in the Catacomb box-set
Eye Candy: Patricia Bellemore and Noel Francomano show T&A, Heather Darling & Zoe Hunter Lee both get topless.
