Watch this just for beautiful and bold actress Kimi Katkar.. Otherwise boring movie.
Yup, this one is as bad as it sounds. A remake of Tarzan in a Hindi film. Hemant Birje is the muscle-bound stud with nary an acting muscle in his body. He is matched in the non-acting department by the sexy Kimi Katkar. Admittedly, there are some nice scenes of these two rolling around and getting naughty in the jungle. However, the bulk of the film is atrocious with next to nil production values, jungle natives who seem to have stepped right out of the 1930s and a screenplay clearly written by a four year old. There is a little campy fun to be had, but its just too long to suffer through. Avoid.

One of my childhood hero Hemant birje is Tarzan and my favourite animals in the animal kingdom lions, tigers and elephants and full of adventure. Except for one song the whole movie is good for families. This movie is entertaining. Dilip Tahl played the good antagonist and Om shivpuri played good supporting role of father of heroine. The tribesmen looked less menacing and more of homeless beggars but the leader RS malik aka Gorilla played a convincing role as a huge menacing look giant. Unfortunately there is no chimpanzee sidekick as the film is set in the jungles of India in Madhumalai National Park. Tarzan looks good and it was the debut film of Hemant birje.
Adventures of Tarzan review :
Planned as a quickie by B Subhash, Tarzan introduced Kimi Katkar and Hemant Birje. The film became famous for Kimi's skin show and her bold scenes with Hemant and was declared a box office hit.
Being an A rated film, the film was strictly out of bound for me as far as theatrical viewing was concerned. So, I hired a video cassette and stealthily saw it when my parents were away. Haha!
Bappi Lahiri's collaboration with B Subhash was always a hit and Tarzan's music also topped the charts that year.
The film was considered a B grade effort by critics who dismissed Hemant as wooden actor. While Kimi Katkar made a decent career even acting opposite Amitabh Bachchan in Hum (1991), Hemant Birje couldnt capitalise on this films success and got relegated to secondary roles and Ramsay films.
A sequel was planned by B Subhash somewhere in early 2000s but never made.

Apart from the last half an hour of the film, where Tarzan was dragged to the circus, overall the film was Entertaining. Song videos were shot at good locations but the songs itself seemed to have been prepared at the last minute, not catchy at all. They were worst. As required Tarzan character played dumb throughout. Some realistic grunts and animal sounds could have been added if properly directed. In all Tarzan films chimps played an important role but there was no interaction with them here. Only elephants seemed to be leading. Lions and tigers appearing only in songs and last half hour and again no interaction with Tarzan. Kimi suited her role but the first half hour of Kimi's appearance was definitely unsuitable for family audience and more aiming towards some low class audience. Actor Hermant fitted into his 'Tarzan' character perfectly more than any other actor could have both looks and physique wise. His script and acting could have been more productive.
