Shaman king is a very good shonen anime that takes inspiration from Jojos bizarre adventure. Even though it was dubbed by 4kids back in 2003 it was a very dark series. I remember watching the anime and reading the manga when I was 10 years old and being fascinated with the shows spiritual and religious concepts along with being mildly disturbed by one of the villains. Not just a kids show if you like JoJo or yuyu hakusho or any other super natural shonen give this a watch also don't watch the dub the only thing good about that was the opening.
I hope no one here is judging it by the English version... they completely changed it, removing all Japanese references, changing the character's names, and making it for little kids. Certain character's names stayed to same, such as Yoh Asakura, Amidamaru, and Anna, but many of them changed. Manta Oyamada became Morty Manta. Ryu became Rio. Lien Tao, who is Chinese, became Lenny... who is British. Horohoro became Trey. An entire storyline got cut from the English version... a storyline that explains how Yoh gets his sword. In the English version he just kind of has it suddenly, and Rio suddenly has a spirit ally. All Japanese writing, even on signs in the distant background, were either changed to English or whited out. Thankfully, 4Kids has released an uncut version on DVD, though they kept the English names.

hi, i just want to leave a comment ^_^, I was just wondering if shaman king episode 64 is the last... because I took a lot of my time watching this anime and then me and my friends were waiting for the moment between Anna and Yoh, but if episode 64 is the last, I'm really disappointed because it left a lot of questions, and then when i saw the manga written by takei, there seems to be an exciting part of Anna and Yoh having Hana Asakura, but takei wrote 200+ chapters and its really far from the incomplete anime. But you know I still enjoy Shaman king fights and many of the parts are funny... ^_^ but the thing is it is not fair for us people to not know what will happen and of course we will be all glad to watch it. Please I really need you to complete this anime. thanks! goodluck!
I just got Shaman King: A Boy Who Dances With Ghosts on DVD from my best friend as a Chistmas gift today, and it's pretty different from the TV series. It doesn't have any of the same quotes as posted on this website, and they don't use Americanisms either. It's simple, plain English. The sword is called Harusame instead of the Sword of Light. On the box it says English Dub is available as well, but I cannot find it. It still gets the same message across, but it's...different. Could somebody help me out? I would appreciate it a lot.
Anyways, it was AWESOME!! I'm watching it as we speak. I haven't seen any blood yet, except in a brief scene in Episode 3: Tao Len. And Lenny's Rapide Tempo Assault is called "Slash Dance." I recommend it for any hardcore Shaman King fan!
