I hope no one here is judging it by the English version... they completely changed it, removing all Japanese references, changing the character's names, and making it for little kids. Certain character's names stayed to same, such as Yoh Asakura, Amidamaru, and Anna, but many of them changed. Manta Oyamada became Morty Manta. Ryu became Rio. Lien Tao, who is Chinese, became Lenny... who is British. Horohoro became Trey. An entire storyline got cut from the English version... a storyline that explains how Yoh gets his sword. In the English version he just kind of has it suddenly, and Rio suddenly has a spirit ally. All Japanese writing, even on signs in the distant background, were either changed to English or whited out. Thankfully, 4Kids has released an uncut version on DVD, though they kept the English names.
Shaman king is a very good shonen anime that takes inspiration from Jojos bizarre adventure. Even though it was dubbed by 4kids back in 2003 it was a very dark series. I remember watching the anime and reading the manga when I was 10 years old and being fascinated with the shows spiritual and religious concepts along with being mildly disturbed by one of the villains. Not just a kids show if you like JoJo or yuyu hakusho or any other super natural shonen give this a watch also don't watch the dub the only thing good about that was the opening.
This show is pretty interesting but I have seen a few episodes and they were cool. But I didn't like Yu-Gi-Oh but at least the creators of it came up with something a little better but still no contest. I think Yoh is really cool! I like his style and his cool relaxed attitude! This show sort of reminds me of Medabots almost except this is ghosts instead of robots. But on the other side the spirits and the action on the show is pretty cool and all. But my other most favorite shows for the Fox Box is probably Sonic X along with Kirby: Right Back At Ya! and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Shaman King follows the adventures of a 13-year-old shaman and his teammate a samurai warrior spirit, who traverse the world fighting evil spirits and misguided shamans on their journey to be the next Shaman King. I now think the show is pretty good I just needed to see more of the show in order to get the idea of it.

Good series that begins with a boy who sees ghosts and ends with clashes between demigods to decree the fate of the world. I'm sorry that the series didn't have a real ending but was cut off towards the end but luckily the manga exists.
i started watching this show a few years ago, and it was my daily morning fix. I really thought the idea of bringing a load of cool characters, new and old together was an excellent idea. I also quite liked voice-acting & plots, as it brings back the olden days (2003-2005)and introduces them to young children. I also thought that the characters were quite good, and the creators of this show (whoever they are) added some really interesting traits to the classic characters eg. Morty becoming a helper like Toad (Mario Game Series), and Anna & other females, Tammy & Millie becoming Shaman Queen was really good. Another thing was that they added some new characters, eg Rio who was an annoying version of the main character (Yo or whatever it's spelled)! The side stories were also rather well thought out. So, to conclude a very good and interesting series!
