Cinema, Aspirins and Vultures

The movie is based on a story narrated by the director's great-uncle Ranulpho Gomes, who sold Aspirin in Brazil during the 1940's.

A character in the movie says that Brazil is larger than the United States not including Alaska. At the time of the movie's story (1942) Alaska wasn't a state yet. Incorrectly regarded as goof: The character was referring to the size of the *contiguous* US, not including US non-contiguous *territories*, of which Alaska was its largest, being a territory and part of the US since 1898.
