Entertaining...
I'm a huge fan of independent/low budget horror flicks and while this one isn't a horror movie, I found it to be quite funny and really enjoyed it.
Robin Griggs, Jenna Bull-Trombold and Robin Green in my opinion had the best scenes and funniest one liners. The leading lady should've been a little bit more alive, she spends most of the movie sitting down! I honestly wished one of the bimbos would've survived instead of her.
My favorite scene was with Ms. Green being chased by the killer in the bathroom. My second favorite scene was with Ms. Griggs also, in the bathroom fixing her hair with the killer right behind her.
I give it 8 out of 10 because I found the beginning with the main character and his father to be boring and as I said earlier, the leading lady didn't do that much throughout the movie. Other than that, it was entertaining and actually made me laugh (in a good way).

Better than Middlin'
Came across a bootleg DVD-R copy of this & it is, IMHO, the best of Amy Lynn Best's productions. Though I'm still not a fan of this type of forced comedy, the overall effect here is much better than her other films. The haunted or cursed house atmosphere gives some added punch to the story and the acting is generally a step or two above what I've come to expect from the usual list of suspects. And any excuse to see Debbie Rochon on tape again is worth the price of admission or the cost of a convention bootleg. I like Lilith Stabs and Debbie Rochon and I look forward to the perfect teaming of this pair. In the meanwhile, Severe Injuries is certainly Amy Lynn Best's best so far. I hope she keeps trying because I think there is going to be at least one very good film coming from her.
Disappointed
First let me say I watched this twice in the same evening. Reason for doing that was to try & find something good to say about it. Let me start by asking where did they find the cast. Apart from Deb Rochon and Lilith Stabs the rest of the ladies were atrocious to look at. Any of them ever hear the phrase sex appeal, I wonder ? The plot had potemtial but the acting was terrible. Amy Lynn should stay behind the camera & leave the acting to Deb & Lilith. Deb was great in her role. Lilith as Holly the house slut was totally under used. Her one semi nude shot ( Bra & garter slip on stairs ) was one would think at least the lead up to some further lingerie shots but alas it was not to be. The missed opportunity to showcase Miss Stabs natural oozing sex appeal should be a class a misdeameanor if not a more serious offence. The male participants were there only for the free beer as there was no talent whatsoever among them. Fans of Rochon can feel good about her performance and fans of Stabs can only hope that someday some producer will use that natural sexy body.

Excellent Fun
This was a great film. It parodies every slasher flick ever done and it does it intelligently. The movie follows a hapless serial killer who like the rest of his family is completely inept. He vows to his dying father (who he accidentally electrocutes) to do the family name proud. We are off to the most brain dead sorority house in the world with equally dumb boyfriends serving themselves up to our hapless hero/killer. Amy Lynn Best and Lilith Stabs are the only 2 people there who aren't missing several pounds of gray matter between their ears. There are so many parodies that I couldn't even begin to list them but one of my favorites is that all of girls are commanded by their Fem Lib professor (played by Debbie Rochon) to deny their sexual urges and not give in to the tyrannical patriarchy of the penis (actual quote). If you want to see a real fun movie just go to Happy Cloud pictures and get it. I know I didn't regret it.
Severe Injuries is a Laugh Riot
I look at the negative posts on this site for the film Sever Injuries and have to wonder what these people were thinking. Okay, sure there's no nudity in it, but that's okay. The jokes are good, the laughs are aplenty and the women come in all shapes and sizes instead of the Hollywood cookie cutter syndrome. Not all men like the exact same woman, get with it people. Plus, my favorite, stand out moment was the parody of Scream where the guy explains how to survive a chick flick. Debbie Rochon came across as a psycho madwoman which was pretty funny. The idea of a serial killer who comes from a long line of wanna be serial killers is pretty funny as well. And for the one person who said there was no gore in the flick. Did you actually watch it. There's a huge, well done aftermath of a slaughter sequence at the end of the film which pays homage to most slasher flicks that used the same device in hundreds of films. Peopl who have no tolerance for micro budget film making really deserve the mountain of dreck that Hollywood foists upon them year after year. Severe Injuries is a great addition to the horror comedy genre.
