In Silent Hill 4 and The Frighteners, there is a ghost that comes out of the wall but still has the same texture as the wall. Also they both have the plot of a serial killer carving numbers into their victims. People who die at the hands of ghosts, in the real world die because of a heart attack. A ghost that crawls out of the wall and digs his hand into the victim's heart. Serial killer who continues a chain of murders even after his death.
