Chestnut: Hero of Central Park

I first saw this movie on DVD when I rented it at Blockbuster back in 2009 and it was decent and heartwarming. The Story is decent, the characters are good as well, and the Chemistry between Chestnut (who is a Great Dane) and Sal and Ray is heartwarming and remarkable. If you like "Bingo" (1991), "Free Willy", "Shiloh", "Beethoven", "Andre" and "Monkey Trouble", you'll enjoy it as much as kids will and Dog Lovers as well.

I've watched this movie every single weekend when i was around 6-7 years old it was my favoritt movie i love this film with all my heart and it is a very good family movie.

Whoever rated this a 1 is taking themselves too seriously in life. In fact, anything under 6!!!

This is a fabulous film, it's sweet, funny, and entertaining. The two little girls in the film were fantastic and it really does show the bond between people and animals.

For the type of movie this is, it doesn't get much better. Loved it!

I saw this movie Oct. 24, 2004, as part of the Heartland Film Festival in Indianapolis, and I really enjoyed it. I'm not usually a huge fan of kid and dogs movies, and the flick is somewhat predictable, but it still tugged at my heartstrings. Without giving any details, there is a sad scene towards the end. I was sitting in a room full of kids while watching the movie, and you could hear them all sobbing. It was almost laughable.

The kids' acting is pretty good, the dog is cute, and the storyline is solid, as long as you don't think too critically about it. I'm guessing it won't win any Academy Awards, but I know lots of children who would really enjoy it, and I'd guess it will do well in the small fry crowd.
