This little treasure can be found as a bonus feature on the Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl DVD. On the DVD, they only show the Pirates of the Caribbean segment, but it's great nonetheless. Now I've seen my fair share of Disney theme park souvenir movies, but I've never seen a segment where they show so much of the ride. This special shows almost the entire ride during its earlier days. Hence, some things are no longer there or have been modified over the years. For people that have enjoyed the ride, they will love this great look back. For people that haven't been on the ride, it's a great way to get introduced to what started the Pirates of the Caribbean phenomena.
The special is also great because we get to see Uncle Walt talking about one of the last attractions he worked on. It's always fun to see footage of the man that started this great enterprise. Disneyland tour guides, who are a bit stiff and rigid on camera, narrate the special. However, it's fun to see the old costumes they wore and to see the style of all the guests involved in the special. Not only does the ride and the park look different, but the guests also look very different!
So if you're a fan of the ride, the movie, or both, you definitely need to check out this little gem. Don't let it be buried away in your collection!
My IMDb Rating: 9/10

This documentary is one of the bonus features for the Pirates of the Caribbean DVD. Walt Disney explains how the attraction is set up and what the guests will see and experience. It's also interesting to see how Disneyland looked several years ago. Highly recommended for Disneyland buffs.
This episode is probably my favorite Disney produced Disneyland TV shows, it is about one of Disneyland's best "E" Tickets, my favorite attraction, the Pirates of the Caribbean, giving viewers a peek of the then new ride. Guests ride along a boat, taking the dip [s] down into the famous attraction filled with exciting Pirate animatronics.
The other portion of this show is about the then "New Tomorrowland" of 1967, showing some of the new attractions they added in 1967, including some of the "BEST" Disneyland attractions that are now retired, but still loved by many. The show includes Mickey Mouse wearing a space suit in front of the People Mover, with the updated 1967-97 Rocket Jets.
Very nostalgic and gives a glimpse of fashion and atmosphere during the heyday times of Disneyland at it's best
