    Silly, Sega and So Awesome

Sure, this game is a little silly and doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but it was the early 90s and video games were just starting to develop from Atari to Sega.

My brother and I played this game all the time when we were little and we LOVED it. I have very good memories of playing this, listening to the great music (the soundtrack is some great old-school stuff, particularly the Aviary song from the Rampage Edition) and actually really enjoying the game.

Not that you can really get this anymore, let alone play it, but this was a great game for its time and I still treasure the memories it gave me.

    JURASSIC PARK

"JURASSIC PARK" (1993) is one difficult game to complete. I loved playing it as a kid because Alan Grant was my hero but I always used cheats... I now revisited it via the True Blue mini and played it again. Very good game with engaging levels and cool dinosaurs but very, very hard.

By far the most entertaining SNES game for one player!!!!!!!

I love this game. Personly i find it, one of the greatest games of all time for SNES. Its definitely a game for the brains, though. You must find key cards to open doors. You must find 20 or so eggs scartted about the island(a lot like GTA, with the hidden packages.). You play as Doctor Grant, your missions include: Restoring Jurassic Park, Turning your radar on, finding 20 eggs, clearing the ship of dinos, and destroying the raptors nest. And other missions pop up as you play on. A cool feature is how your in a terrific 3rd person mode outside, and 1st person inside. Highly entertaining and fun. It takes a long time, and yes is boring at times, but the music is sweet, the graphics are great, and you get a good variety of weapons. :-) Script: 30 (30%) Fun: 90 (90%) Complexity: 10 (10%)

    Bo-oring!

Back in 1993 Sega released a dull, lackluster video game of one of the biggest films of all time. Quickly realizing their mistake they hashed out a different version of the game, claiming it would be bigger, tougher and better.

Neither were. Both were slow, boring games.

You can choose to be either Dr. Alan Grant or...a Raptor. Both have their problems. Why would Dr. Grant go around killing all those army guys (just what are they doing in the game)? And why would a Raptor be killing other Raptors? Weird.

Obviously not learning from their first mistake Sega really dropped the ball on the original release and the so-called Rampage Edition. One of the slowest, sluggish and dullest platformers I have ever played.

For a Video game based on a hit movie, it's not so bad.

Possibly one of the greatest movies of the 1990's was Jurassic Park. Directed by Steven Spielberg, it's the story of a scientist who recreates dinosaurs through preserved blood found in fossilized Mosquitoes. As a day at the park of dinosaurs goes on, things go wrong, and soon, the tourists in the park become a entrée dish for the pre-historic monsters. it was a huge success not only at the box office, but in VHS and laserdisc sales, evident in the amount of JP VHS tapes that you can find at your local thrift shop.

And of course, big movie release means Video game Tie-in.

Now my original review of this game was back in 2006 when I owned a physical copy of the game and had only seen part of the movie (and took a dislike to it because of how it disturbed me at a young age.) and have since wanted to re-write a more professional review.

The game is somewhat reminiscent of the movie. You can either play as Dr. Grant or the Velociraptor.

If you play as Dr. Grant, you must get through 5 levels of Jurassic park, avoiding dinosaurs and fighting them off with various weapons including a taser gun. If you play as the Velociraptor, you have to chase Dr. grant through the levels, while eating the armed guards planted throughout.

This game doesn't hold much staying power for what it's worth. It's just your basic platformer with a few bells and whistles thrown in. on top of that, it's also one of the shortest games for the Genesis - I've seen a speedrun (Not Tool-assisted) where the player finished the game in 3 minutes.

But this is a game you may want to try out, perhaps if you're a die-hard JP fan.
