A movie made with care and love deserves a re-release

What a marvelous discovery! I saw this film tonight on an obscure TV station in Croatia, where I now live. When you throw in a bunch of Italians trying to make a movie about life and love in a close-knit Italian family you really have to hit the high notes not to make it predictable--batta bam, botta bing! But Marmo and crew kept you laughing and engrossed with a loving take on leaving, losing and discovering what's important and why. The pans against the movie are surely defensible, but with such poorly written, badly acted, terribly edited, overblown "blockbusters" like Interstellar and anything to do with The Hunger Games, how refreshing it is to see and listen to believable characters, a plot that makes sense and editing that keeps you fully engaged instead of shaking your head wondering what the hell was that? We're all so jaded with production values and big budgets it's good to remember that small, independent films like West of Brooklyn still make magic. Buy it, enjoy it, and pass it on~

    Lovely Funny Film

I just saw this film last week in Los Angeles. The director and some of the actors were on hand. I just want to say that it is a lovely movie that has warmth, humor, and tears. I laughed at parts of the movie and cried at other times. I would love to see the movie on the big screen. It is one of those small independent films I think viewers would just gravitate to. The cast is territic and you can see the chemistry they all share. Anyone why has a chance really needs to see it. It is highly recommended. How about the Sundance film festival guys. Get your picture out their. Fans would love it. I hope to see this on the bg screen someday.

Loved this Film. It was excellent

I went to the premiere and the movie was awesome. Ronnie is terrific and he produced and wrote a great film. Natalia , who happens to be a favorite of mine and is the reason I attended, was great. Natalia played "Matty" effortlessly. I have to say the rest of the cast was also wonderful, Ronnie in particular. This guy is a great talent and why Hollywood has not picked up on this I cannot imagine. I have to say I laughed at this movie and cried real tears believe it or not. I absolutely fell in love with each and every character in the film. We had a chance to speak with Ronnie Marmo(I am sure he does not remember us)- The writer and producer. He seemed excited about the film and really happy with it. Ronnie if we did not tell you, GREAT GREAT GREAT job. You are a tremendous talent and a real person, not plastic and fake like many in Hollywood. I hope this is the start to great things for you.

Natalia was not there the night we went, but I understand she was at some other screenings. Natty if you are reading this, we love you and great job.

    This movie made me Smile

I saw a screening of this film a couple of years ago in Jersey. The film was not 100% complete at that time but what I saw I have to say I really thought was great. Ronnie Marmo rocks and I am happy to see this guy who is humble get some attention for a change. This movie has it all, laughs, tears, and all that feel good stuff. You might think this was a chick flick but no way. Guys and gals would love this film equally. Great story, wonderful performances, top notch dialogue. I really believed that these people were all friends and family in real life the chemistry was just that good.

Ronnie best on this film. Glad to see it is done and has been premiered. You are a talented guy and deserve success with all the other *hit coming out of Hollywood. I really hope this movie catches fire.

Who knew someone was not allowed to submit a review for one film

I saw this film over a year ago and loved it and wanted to show my support. I find it interesting that another reviewer(did you actually see the movie) took the time to research every reviewer for this movie in particular. You have something against the filmmaker or have nothing better to do with your time than bash and criticize.

I happen to be a HUGE Ronnie Marmo fan, saw the play, and loved the movie. I hope that meets with the approval of this reviewer. I don't know what else to say except I adored the film and the actors. God forbid someone actually like Ronnie and the rest of the cast. The horror of it. Perhaps the reviewer should spend their time reviewing films they really watch versus spending time criticizing what they know nothing about.
