A Profound Exploration of Love with Unforgettable Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja

"7G Rainbow Colony" is a masterpiece that significantly broadened my perspective on love. This Tamil film, directed by Selvaraghavan, masterfully captures the raw and unfiltered emotions that come with young love.

The story revolves around Kathir, played by Ravi Krishna, and Anita, portrayed by Sonia Agarwal. Kathir's character is deeply flawed, yet his journey of transformation is both relatable and heart-wrenching. Despite the disturbing scene where Kathir peeks at Anita through the window, the film beautifully redeems itself by showcasing the depth of his love and the lengths he's willing to go for it.

The songs and background music, composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, are nothing short of phenomenal. Yuvan's music seamlessly blends with the narrative, enhancing every emotion and moment in the film. The soundtrack is a perfect mix of soulful melodies and energetic tracks, each resonating with the audience and adding layers to the storytelling.

Overall, "7G Rainbow Colony" is a poignant exploration of love, redemption, and personal growth. It's a film that stays with you long after the credits roll, thanks to its powerful performances, compelling narrative, and exceptional music. Highly recommended but not suitable for this current generation.

I can never forget this movie!!!

There have been many movies more greater than this one, and i too have seen most of them. But this is one of the very very very very few ones that i can never forget in my life.

I am not connected to this movie in any means. But the fact that this movie reflects the larger part of the teens(BOYS) in tamil nadu (or even India), is the magic binding that pulls the audiences and stays in their heart as long as they remember their teenage life. I watched this movie on my first semester of my college. In fact this is the first of the many movies that i watched bunking college. I not a gud guy, neither as bad as the hero of this movie. But i like to stay away from the typical rich, western minded, fashion freakish, academic geeks and guys who even think speakin in their mother tongue is low class. But i did my BE in one of the top ten premier engineering institutes in India(CEG). But me and my gang are not bookies. We loved this movie so much right from the first time we saw it.

The hero is simply the best and the worst character of the movie. His portrayal as the one who leads his life as he wants, with no rules, not caring anything but himself, with loyal friends, sincere & middle class family is nothing strange to our country lads( well!! most of them, including me). But that is all that is known to the society.

But what this movie tells extra is the daring punch line, but very much a needed one to our lads. The hero is worse than the average teen. He crossed the danger line and became nothing but a load of useless crap in the society. Then he sees the elixir of his life. A young girl of course!!!

what happens rest is one of the most extra ordinary story ever made, between a completely opposite boy and a girl, against all the odds, against all the rules of love, life and success. It will make even the most purest, brainiest, ingenious, bookish boy out there, to want to have a life like the hero of the story.

In a line, this movie if out of the book, totally against the rules, made for the ones who haven't tasted success, to triumph in life. And a knock out blow to the ones who think only their way succeeds.

Its justifies in every sense, the phrase - "Transformation of a boy to a man". And who better to do that than a woman. To put in another way, this movie is the story of a boy(bad one) who gets the treatment of a stray dog in the society to the successful man ,who every one silently admires in their life with all the respect.

"When u have a woman behind your life, that life is sure gonna rock. And u r the king of it." - This movie tells u that.

But, not just that. "Life is not that easy, we have to fight & win every challenge that it wants us to face". Its here the climax comes. A tragedy that will break all hearts, right at the moment where no one wanted. But thats life!!!!!!!

All in all!! This movie is a must see for every boy out there, to understand what life actually is, and to conquer it. I can never forget this movie coz, like many out there, i feel this movie is made for me!!

10/10. U will be disturbed after coming out from the movie.

Verdict: Wonderful Wonderful!! 2 Thumbs Up! Beautiful directorial venture by Selvaraghavan, excellent sequences based on a true story starring a new hero and Sonia Aggarwal.

What's New: Real Life story really moves the audience. We get to feel the pain that must have been experienced by the director in his real life that has been portrayed really well on the reels. Hero is a real loser.. the way his talent is brought out and fear is extinguished is really notable.

Saw it on: Antony, Fun Asia Theaters, Dallas

Noticeable: Daring Bedroom sequence by Sonia, really natural performance in all scenes. Much improved performance by Sonia, excellent music. Stereotyped hero by Selvaraghavan? Also, Sonia is so great because she plays a north Indian girl in Tamilnadu. Really natural performances.

      7G Rainbow Colony

I did not hear about this movie until 2007. While browsing some websites, I read that the songs of this movie were good, that lead me to read the reviews of the movie. The reviews sounded nice. But what attracted me to download the movie for seeing was the face of the hero, which was totally non-hero like. I thought, how can a film with such a hero be a hit? That question led me to see the movie.

The movie is about a normal next door boy Kadhir (Ravi Krishna) in the lower-middle class household, who is not so good looking, dull, irresponsible youth, poor in studies, rowdy, playful, mischievous, etc. A girl Anitha (Sonia Agrawal) comes to stay in the neighborhood at 7G Rainbow Colony (that is why the name) and Kadhir starts liking her. Anitha hates Kadhir and slippers him once while he approaches her in a bus. As events turn out, Anitha starts liking Kadhir, but wants Kadhir to be responsible in life before she marries him. She motivates Kadhir to take a job. Anitha's marriage is fixed, and before marriage she decides to spend a night with Kadhir. Sadly on the way back, they fight and in an accident Anita dies.

The story is very well written. It has numerous small incidents of youthful play that would immediately click with any person. The direction is extremely efficient. It does not divert into any sub-plots and focuses on the issues of youth and love.

Director Selvaraghavan shows brilliant skills in handling and conveying his thoughts in the best possible way to his audiences. Very few directors can boast of achieving such a close grip on the narration.

Sonia Agrawal looks beautiful and acts wonderfully. She truly depicts the emotions and her character sticks to your heart. Ravi Krishna is good, but I think he can do only some things under a watchful director, otherwise he remains blank face in all scenes.

There are so many touching moments in the movie that it is hard to pick out one, but I did – I found the scene when Kadhir tells about his job to his father and that night when his father and mother talk about how proud they are feeling about their son. I think it was a brilliantly executed scene.

The music and songs are good and hummable. I can imagine them being popular when the film was released. The camera-work, cinematography, the down to earth real life characters – all make a good movie.

At the end I became a fan of the director Selvaraghavan. I liked Sonia Agrawal too – and searching the web discovered that just a year back, She and Selvaraghavan got married.
