When Theo and Vanessa get in trouble for Rudy's actions!

You won't hear "Poor Rudy" from me.

Three siblings - Theo, Vanessa, and Rudy - all go against what was expected of them when they were permitted to browse the mall together. Two of them get punished with getting sent to the car. One gets rewarded with getting to go hang out with her friend.

Theo and Vanessa failed in their responsibility to keep a close eye on Rudy at all times. But Rudy was not a baby. She made the choice to leave her siblings' sides and pet a stranger's dog, failing to first ask permission or make even one of them aware of what she was up to.

By the way, the disorder Cliff diagnoses in which words get transformed between his kids' ears and brain is evidently hereditary, since he shows signs of it himself. In Cliff's case, he misinterpreted Theo's words "We were watching her; we really were." as "We let her go off on her own because we thought you told us to."
