Better now than it was back then

I completely ignored this show when it was on air. There was so much hype in the news about it being controversial, the kids over analyzed everyone and everything, and they spoke like people in their 30's when trying to be an intellectual. Looking back I think it was a good show with many hot topics teens go through, and what I like about it is it took place in a time when the 90's were almost over. The end of a decade. I just like to see the clothes, makeup, etc. And to me the best episodes were simple and not so complicated with teen angst and drama over relationships, such as "The Scare", "Escape from Witch Island", and "Four Scary Stories". Seasons 1-3 were the best.

Trivia
Near the end of the episode, Jen mentions the show Roswell is airing in 5 minutes. This was an inside joke, as Roswell aired after Dawson's Creek on the WB. The lead character of that show was played by Jason Behr, who played Chris Wolfe for 6 episode in the second season of Dawson's Creek.
