Unexpectedly good

The first season of this show so far has had much more misses than hits. Several episodes prior to this one were really bad and not funny at all, so I nearly stopped watching. This episode was unexpectedly good. Lots of really funny jokes had me laughing pretty much during the whole episode. The jokes were actually funny and smart, the characters were quirky without being ridiculously over the top, which is a mark that this show has failed to hit too many times. Even Dharma was not ridiculous and annoying as she so often is. Gave me a boost to keep watching this show some more in hopes that it improves over time.

Trivia
Greg guesses Pirates of Penzance when Dharma is playing charades and mentions his Pirates of Penzance CD; Thomas Gibson's character in Criminal Minds was in a high school production of Pirates of Penzance in order to gain the attention of his later wife, who resembles Dharma.
