Jimmy Angel

After a fight with boyfriend Jimmy Hawkins (as George Haskell), Mary (Shelley Fabares) announces, "I'm through with boys!" Of course, Jeff (Paul Peterson) is unsympathetic. But, understanding mother Donna (Donna Reed) discovers the spat is a typical teenage "love triangle", involving Mr. Hawkins and flirty Melinda Powell (as Babs Keppler). Donna recalls a similar situation, involving Alex (Carl Betz) and another woman ("Gloria"). In order to renew Hawkins' interest, Donna advises Mary to show interest in another boy ("Tooey"). Hawkins is erroneously credited as "Herbie" (and would be re-named "Scotty" in later years). As usual, he and Ms. Fabares are a charming young couple.
