One Nation

After watching through Season 4 of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, I find it increasingly difficult to continue. The repeated portrayal of our early government's inhumane treatment of Indigenous peoples is deeply disturbing-too shameful to ignore and too enraging to overlook.

What makes it even harder to stomach is the fact that these same patterns of bias and injustice still persist in our modern-day politics. It's not just an American problem; it's a global one. The cruelty shown then echoes loudly today.

As Fyodor Dostoevsky once observed: "People speak sometimes about the 'bestial' cruelty of man, but that is terribly unjust and offensive to beasts-no animal could ever be so cruel as a man, so artfully, so artistically cruel."

Unfortunately, Dr. Quinn doesn't feel like a historical drama-it feels like a mirror.
