    Another Action Episode

As Elizabeth returns, there is one crisis after another. While she is so competent, she is torn up inside. Romano begins to run things but obviously can't perform any operations. Kerry is shooting for his job and is back to tyrannical ways. She starts to cry when Corday confronts her. What Corday says is right--you can expect disrespect if that's how you treat everyone else.

The most critical issue here is a man who comes in with a damaged heart. He is pronounced dead. Pratt, however, sees there is a heart rhythm. He brings him back but he is doomed to be in vegetative state. There is a sad time with his two boys.

    Edit
    • Trivia
The song playing inside the elevator as Elizabeth Corday goes down to the ER for the first time since her husband, Mark Green, died, is Billy Joel's "Piano Man." That is also the same song that Mark and Elizabeth sang together when they did karaoke at a restaurant the night Carter and his med student, Lucy Knight, were stabbed by a schizophrenic patient.
    • Goofs
In the opening scene Luka tells an arriving Paramedic unit that they cannot accept the patient. This would be an EMTALA violation and can result in a $50,000 fine for both the Doctor and the hospital.
    • Quotes

Dr. Jing-Mei Chen: Hey Carter. What's up with your boss? I heard she was crying earlier.

      Dr. John Carter: Weaver?

Dr. Jing-Mei Chen: Yah. Did she have a bad break up or something? Shes been really moody lately.

      Dr. John Carter: lately?
