    Living on the Edge

The thing I like most about Johnny Gage's character is how sometimes he seems to live on the edge of rules, and this is a good example. He was always doing something to get into trouble with the other fireman (and the chief). Johnny liked women so much they could basically talk him into anything, and this was no exception! He takes in a dog after rescuing the owner (a young, pretty woman) in a car accident. Of course, the dog is mischievous and causes trouble for Johnny. In fact, Roy warned him at one point that he was really cutting it close!

In this second episode, we meet the guys of Station 51: Chet Kelly and Stoker. Lopez isn't there yet (at least I didn't see him), and the chief is different for the first few episodes.

This is a great episode with classic Johnny and Roy scenes, as well as classic cases at Rampart!

Second episode in and Emergency! Wants to let viewers know that this is hi tech stuff. A helicopter lands in a remote mountainous area when a man is injured while out hunting.

When the Emergency crew attends an elderly man with chest pains. They manage to send the ECG data to the hospital and the consulting surgeon.

The main story is rather hokey though. When treating a pretty young lady involved in a car accident. Paramedic John Gage agrees to take care of her pampered pooch. Only the others at the Emergency room are less keen, especially as the dog likes to chew the pillows. Turns out that the pooch is a valuable pedigree.

Meanwhile at the hospital a woman turns up with breathing problems, she hyperventilates. While another man collapses as he is diabetic and did not watch his insulin levels.

As it is new this would had been seen to be exciting stuff back in the early 1970s but the show is still trying to finds its feet though.
