Trivia
The Ferris wheel rescue took place on a ride called the Sky Wheel, a double Ferris wheel built by the Allan Herschell Company of New York. It consisted of two wheels with eight cars each that were connected with an armature. The scene was shot at the Pike (named Nu-Pike at the time), an amusement zone in Long Beach, California. The Pike amusement zone was officially closed and demolished in 1979.

Goofs
Engine 51 reports to an illness and injury at an amusement park but are told they can't drive right up to the rides. All amusement parks have vehicle access for emergency vehicles, delivery truck, maintenance vehicles, etc. even in the 1970s.
