In the scene where Debra hits Ray in the groin, actress Patricia Heaton (Debra) accidentally actually hurt actor Ray Romano. Romano spoke of the incredible real life pain he suffered, and as a result, he adlibbed his next few lines.

As in most mentions of Gianni's name, the characters pronounce it as if it had three syllables: gee-ahn-knee, where its correct Italian pronunciation is jon-knee, just like Johnny.
