One of the all-time great TV proposals!

Robert finally proposes to Amy and you don't need to know any more than that. If you have not seen this episode and you want to watch it play out, do NOT read the other reviews before watching it! The invitation and wedding episodes are terrific too.

How to deal with parents of your future fiancé.

I know it was very hard for Robert to ask Amy's parents for permission to marry her. But I wish they could've been more open minded to the idea of them getting married. I think their problem was that they were being close minded. If I met my girlfriend's parents and they didn't like the idea of me and her getting married, I would do whatever it takes to change their minds.

Meeting the parents of your future loved one is usually not easy.

I've watched this episode several times and I understand that Robert tried to get Amy's parent's approval so that he could marry her but her parents wouldn't approve of it and clearly said that the answer was no. That to me sounds like narcissistic parents. Now if I was in Robert's shoes and asked Amy's parents for their permission marry her and they said no, I would try to find ways to persuade them to change their minds such as have my brother come with me to convince them to change their minds. And not just my brother but my parents as well. And this is what I would say, "Now Hank and Pat, it's my understanding that you two are not going to give me permission your daughter. And I understand that you don't approve of me but I'm determined to prove you two wrong because I could be well suited to marry her. Now either you approve our future marriage or you two are going regret it." And how could her parents say no? When my parents first met for the first time, they didn't meet each other on a dating sight. They met on a blind date and was is it easy for her mom to approve of him? The reason why I say this is because her mom was very strict but he managed to convince her that he was well suited to be her husband. And look what happened, my parents raised my older brother and I very well.

Hank tells Pat he found another piece of his (Jesus') beard but his beard is clearly a finished piece of the puzzle.
