I am trying to figure out what the original show was that ever used this joke. When did the first tv show ever have the same scenario that a husband (or whoever) tapes over the wedding video? It is a common scenario in sitcoms and I imagine it had to have started somewhere... any ideas?

(Had to put it again to meet the minimum character requirements.....)

If the wedding video actually meant that much to her, why did 10 years go by before she even tried to watch it (okay, 9 years since the football game recorded over it)? Obviously not that important until it became a reason to whine about it. That being said, it doesn't seem like Ray cared enough about the game, either, because he seemed legitimately surprised that the game was on that tape so he obviously hadn't watched it since he recorded it.
