It's a funny episode, the comedy is brilliant but as a person Robert sucks. I'll break it down..
He's earns decent money as a cop and lived with his parents rent free for years..
Despite constantly quitting his job, they keep taking him back and even promote him.
He has a weird crush on his sister inlaw and often makes remarks about he body and looks.
He dates loads of beautiful woman (Amy, stefania, a 19 year old, the frog collecting woman, the woman he went skiing with) to name a few.. All beautiful.. He then gets his own place where he's surrounded by beautiful woman who like him, shares a hot tub with 2 beautiful woman, despite constantly cheating on Amy and dumping her several times he finally settles for her. He constantly causes trouble for everyone by telling others everything and yet the show makes it so we have to feel sorry for him? Don't get me wrong, his character is funny and played well but everytime he gets what he wants he messes it up deliberately, an this episode is another example of that. I'm nit picking here obviously but it's these examples that robbed the show, they could have carried on longer if they'd settled Robert down with any earlier on and expanded the show to him having kids and moving next door to Ray..
Her inability to pay attention to things is obvious, and even mentioned by Robert. The things he finds annoying about her are legitimate. She doesn't listen or pay attention at all. And Ray is correct, talking during movies is rude (that was in a later episode but it does bear out Robert being annoyed). In a relationship, when one person says 'we have to talk' the other person should listen and find out what's going on, and they should have a conversation. When Robert tries to have a serious conversation with Stefania, she just keeps messing around. It reminds me of a kid with ADD that can't pay attention in class. Stefania didn't seem like this when they were Italy, but she was still living with her father in her late 20s or early 30s, so we maybe were supposed to assume that although gorgeous she maybe isn't too smart. I do agree Robert seems to get a lot of women, even though they don't live up to his standards. A lot of guys don't get that many chances, so I'd say his standards may be a little rough. If it was me, I'd make a little more effort to make things work, but I would find it hard to tolerate talking during movies or eating bugs. But anyway this is a funny episode, which holds up after all these years.
