Bishop Brennan arrives on the island.

A new, blasphemous film has been banned throughout country, but a loophole means it can be shown on Craggy Island, Bishop Brennan is sent to ensure Ted and Dougal make a protest, and show the Church's position.

The scenes at the start with The Cuban Priest are very funny, but the arrival of Bishop Brennan and the premise are both side splitting. He would prove to be the thorn in the side of Ted for many years.

Hilarious, you can see how Father Jack has lasted so long, the way he takes down the Bishop is so funny.

    Classic. 9/10

    • Trivia
The scandal surrounding Bishop Brennan's 'little mistake' is based on the story of Bishop Eamonn Casey who was a popular figure in the church in Ireland during the 70s and 80s. It was later discovered that he had fathered a child from an affair with a woman in America and had embezzled diocesan funds to her for child support.
    • Goofs
Bishop Brennan points to a place in North America on a globe whilst describing a place in South America where he wishes to send Father Ted. This is possibly deliberate on the part of the script-writers (or actor Jim Norton) given the irate state of mind of the character in the scene.
