    Clip Show

It's a clip show. If you can't create enough new content to make an episode then din't

    Painfully Awkward and Cringeworthy.

Anyone who knows about the Fresh Prince knows that the first Aunt Viv was on her way out. If you watch Season 3, you can see Viv's role slowly diminish over the season presumably due to contract disputes. So what do they do in her last appearance on the show? Don't bring her out right until the very end and have her renew her "vows" to her TV husband and then two episodes later, bring in a new aunt Viv.

This must have been a brutal moment for everyone involved, but it was a particularly cruel and sinister joke played by the writers on Janet. Look at that last scene with her walking out in the wedding dress. She's a great actress, but the tension isn't easy to avoid. Find another way to get rid of her, but don't make her go through something like that.

Clip Shows Were the Worst Part of the 90s

In an era of 8-10 episode seasons, I long for the days of 24-episode seasons... BUT, without clip shows. Basing an episode on Phil and Viv renewing their vows could have been done so much better without the cringey dialogue in between recycled clips. Viv's sisters don't like their bridesmaids dresses, Will & Carlton lose the rings, Geoffrey has to officiate. Anything predictable and half entertaining!

I feel like clip shows should be excluded when shows are sent to streaming; especially in the era of binge watching, where once you may not have seen an episode clip in a few years then, but I just saw the episode clip two hours ago...

    There Goes The Show

"Lowest rated episode of 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' with an average of 7.2 (As of July 2017)." "Final appearance of Janet Hubert on the series." I think that this explains it all. Aunt Vivian as a cornerstone of this series from the beginning. Another quote. "Left The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (1990) when NBC failed to negotiate beyond offering her 10 weeks of work.". She was Aunt Vivian, and 'replaced' by someone who in my opinion, was not up to the task. If they were going to get rid of someone it should have been Jeffrey A. Townes a.k.a Jazz. But then he and Will Smith were 'friends'. From what I've read it seems that Mr. Smith was the reason that she was replaced. I have always had a lot of respect for Will Smith, but it's gone down a lot since I found this out. He would have had no career if it had not been for people like Janet Hubert. Diva much Will?
