Such a Christmas-y episode! Loved the plot, it was so funny, and as always, the episode was so warm & cozy! Definitely a 10/10 on my Christmas media scale!
After a Thanksgiving episode we get a New Years Eve episode.
Plot In A Paragraph: The gang make a pact not to take any dated to a New Years Eve party at Monica and Rachel's. But one by one the all break it except Ross. Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) has her new boyfriend Paulo flying in, Pheobe (Lisa Kudrow) starts dating a scientist (Hank Azaria) who she wants to take, Chandler (Matthew Perry) runs to his safety net of Janice (Maggie Wheeler) Joey (Matt Le Blanc) invites and single mum he just met whilst Monica (Courtney Cox) invited her old boyfriend fun Bobby!
Another so so episode, Maggie Wheeler is always fun as Chandlers annoying girlfriend Janice. Jennifer Aniston joins Courtney Cox in being very cold in this episode.

Minsk is not in Russia, it's the capital of Belarus. I'm surprised how people who write screenplay don't check information before airing the show.
I mean he had that stupid monkey for all of five minutes and he overreacts when he went missing. It was accident it could have happened to anyone. Ross isn't perfect mr divorce three times.
I hate this episode.
I hate this episode.
In the 90s if you were a millennial this monkey trend got way too big, it's hard to describe to ppl who weren't there for it how much of an impact pop tends made before the internet, it's just not the same world anymore. I love this episode for its introduction of David, the man Phoebe should have ended up with, I don't like the Mike storyline with her but by than the show has fizzled so it didn't matter. David was such a great man for Phoebe, their chemistry is incredible, his nervous nature and her meek dominatrix antics mix so well...watching her act out their breakup with David is just such a sadly perfect Lisa Kudrow moment. Max who is David's science partner has some spectacular one liners and fun Bobby showing up as melancholy Robert is hilarious, I love the characters from Romy and Michelle making cameos on this show and it is criminal they never had Mira Sorvino on but I have my theories why... Joey dating a single mom was hilarious and should have been pursued longer and those spontaneous appearances of Janice were always a hoot.

- TriviaThe DVD version of the episode features an additional scene where Monica and Phoebe help a battered Rachel get ready for the party. This episode is the first appearance of Rachel's bedroom in the series.
- GoofsWhen Max tells Phoebe that he and David are going to Minsk, he tells her it's in Russia. It is, in fact, the capital of Belarus. Moreover, Belarus has been independent from the Soviet Union since 1991 (three years prior to this episode).
