Application Anxiety

I love this episode. It reminds me just a little of when my daughters were applying to college. I especially liked the part where Lorelai pretends to be Rory on the phone. And the Springsteens are a hoot.

Rory is still very young, and despite her age, she possesses remarkable awareness and good judgment, which will greatly help shape her personality in the future. Her conversation with Carol was very important, I believe it will influence her decision to apply to Harvard in the future.

She is lucky to have attended the talk with the Springsteen family, not because it reassured her about her readiness for Harvard, but because she had the opportunity to meet someone who thinks outside the box, like Carol.

The timing is also perfect because she will come to realize early that she is under the influence of Lorelai's wishes, which is exactly what Richard had previously pointed out to Lorelai.
