    Dorothy does stand up.

Blanche is annoyed that someone from the IRS is about to audit her; Rose is upset that someone at work doesn't like her; Dorothy is distressed that a school friend has died, reminding her of dreams and ambitions unfulfilled.

Another wonderfully funny episode, this one features some great scenes and terrific one-liners. Blanche's trip down memory lane was one of the best moments, as was the moment when we meet poor Roger.

I love the idea of Dorothy being a stand-up comic; she is on fine form here, and her looks of pure disdain are hilarious. Bea Arthur had such a presence; she was brilliant.

I've never understood people like Rose, those who are desperate for others to like them-it would be such hard work.

    8/10.

Dorothy Zbornak: Listen, ma, would you like to listen to a joke?

Sophia Petrillo: Is this from your act?

Dorothy Zbornak: Ehh, could be. I went down to The Comedy Barrel and signed up for Monday night. Let me try this out on you.

Sophia Petrillo: Okay, make me laugh.

Dorothy Zbornak: All right, here we go: It seems there was this doctor...

Sophia Petrillo: [interrupts] "It seems there was"? What is this, existentialist humor?
