    Sour Voiced Sergeant

Nothing in the world world makes Sgt. Carter's ears perk up like the words "Hollywood movie". And he hears them in this episode. They're looking for a platoon choir to be in a Hollywood movie and Sgt. Carter immediately sets out to create his own platoon choir so that he can be in this Hollywood movie. So he auditions the men in his platoon to find out who can sing and who can't. Luckily, there are some wonderful singers in his platoon, the best among them being Gomer Pyle. So they're all set, right? Wrong. Sgt. Carter wants to sing, too. Oops. He can't sing. At all. He's horrible. And that's the comedy.

My only complaint is that they sing the same damn song over and over and over and by the end of the episode you get kind of tired of it.

    Overall it's a very funny episode and I gave it a "8".

This a slightly reworked version of Barney and the Choir (1962). Gomer even mentions a song "number 14", and Barney Fife was singing "good old 14-A" in TAGS version.
    • Goofs
The USMC fatigue tops are too varied. When Carter is auditioning the men only Gomer's and Martoni's left pockets have the Marine Corps emblem. Martoni's is faded and Gomer's pocket flaps aren't buttoned as they should be. Also Higgin's pocket flaps are cut straight across not in a "V" shape as the other's are. Then later when they're practicing on stage there are a couple more men with emblems but Gomer's has faded.
