Really good, but could have been even better

To me, this could have worked better as a two parter, for the simple reason that we never really explored WHY Linella wanted Penny back. But, as the episode goes on, we see she really only wanted her back because she lost her. It wasn't about Penny, it was more about proving Wilona was unfit. Linella had not changed at all, except now she apparently married into money and could solve her previous "problem" of the child "wanting things". If you have "things" but not love, you really have nothing. And, Penny knew who really loved her and who she wanted to be with. Even if the case had gone to court, I'd like to think a judge could clearly see who Penny was better off with.

    • Trivia
During Willona and Penny's party, the background music is The Jacksons "Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground)". Janet Jackson, who plays Penny, is the sister of the Jacksons.
    • Goofs
While Penny's tape recorder recorded Mrs. Gordon's confession of organizing the sting, it also recorded Willona threatening to "break (Mrs. Gordon)'s neck" prior to Willona discovering it was turned on. Under legal definition, this is a threat of malicious wounding (formerly known as manslaughter), if not murder, and would make Willona's case difficult especially if Mrs. Gordon had an "uptown lawyer" as she stated. However, Willona also had Jeffrey as a witness to Mrs. Gordon attacking Penny to try to get the recorder after hearing the confession, which would work in her favor.
