    The Cuban evolution

"The Investigation" opens with Weeping Wanda (Helen Martin, second of seven) helping Florida sort out clothes when JJ comes home jobless, forced to turn in his bird from the Chicken Shack. When James too is fired from his position moving ladies underwear they know something strange is going on. It turns out that Michael's school project, comparing the Cuban Revolution with the American Revolution, which involved writing to the Cuban authorities for information, has put FBI agent Lloyd (Don Mitchell) on the case. He manages to get James back to work, but apparently never spoke to JJ's employer. All ends happily though, as JJ finds a similar position with the Round of Rib and Roast Beef!

During the first season, J.J. has to repeat a grade because of poor grades. Yet he somehow has enough historical awareness to make a joke about Michael being Nikita Khruschev, the former Russian President who had been deposed more than a decade earlier.
