Karen Thurston
- Mayor: [the townsfolk have trapped the Benson family in the attic and plan to kill them; The Mayor grabs onto Mrs, Benson and her mouth drops open in horror] Hold it, hold it everybody, let go of her. HOLD IT!... Now, Jim here will go first! I know you are all hungry...
- Amanda Benson: Wait a minute, Josh! You remember when all those kids ran away when the sun came out?
- Josh Benson: [panicky] Yeah?
- Amanda Benson: And that man in the cemetery, he screamed when the sun hit his arm! It's the light, it's the sunlight, they're all afraid of it! That's why they all keep the shutters closed!
- [Amanda hurries towards the window to pull the boards away and let the sunshine in]
- Karen Thurston: STOP THEM! Don't do it!
- [to Amanda]
- Karen Thurston: I really like you! I promise you Amanda, it doesn't hurt!
- Amanda Benson: Josh, help me!
- [Amanda and Josh both begin removing the wooden boards, flooding the attic with light and making the townsfolk groan in agony]
- Letta: NOT THE LIGHT!
- Mayor: CLEAR THE ROOM!
- Karen Thurston: Don't fight us, Amanda. Let us feed, then we can be best friends.
- Agnes Thurston: You'll have so much in common.
- Mr. Thurston: You're doing the right thing.
- Agnes Thurston: The neighborly thing.
- Karen Thurston: We were so happy when you moved in.
- Townsperson: You'll like Dark Falls. Great place to raise the kids.
- Karen Thurston: I'm sure there'll be a new family moving in right after you.
- Agnes Thurston: And then you'll get to feed. Mr. Dawes is a real good salesman.
- Karen Thurston: Well it's just like in those scary movies... when a family brings someone old into the house and then... bad things start happening.
- Amanda Benson: It's likely just a coincidence. All those strange things started to happen just after we hung that thing up.
- Karen Thurston: It did?
- Karen Thurston: You feeling okay?
- Amanda Benson: Yeah. Yeah. I guess I just wish we picked a different house to live in.
- Karen Thurston: Yeah. I felt the same way when I moved in.
- Amanda Benson: You mean you lived in this house too?
- Karen Thurston: No. I meant my house.
