    • Trivia
Mr. Haney, i.e. Pat Buttram, says he is going to use his bloodhound to search for Judge Crater. Joseph Force Crater, who disappeared August 6, 1930, was a New York State Supreme Court Justice who vanished amid political scandal. He was last seen leaving a restaurant on West 45th Street in Manhattan, and entered popular culture as one of the most mysterious missing-persons cases of the twentieth century.
    • Quotes

Eb Dawson: [explaining to trooper where his $300 came from] That's another story. You see, about six months ago I got a letter from my Uncle Wallaby in Australia.

Lisa Douglas: You never said you had an uncle in Australia.

      State Trooper Jack Webster: Oh?

Eb Dawson: Oh, he must've slipped my mind. Anyway, $300 doesn't mean a thing to him. He's very wealthy. He bottles sheep dip. It's a very popular drink, especially in the summertime. It tastes kinda like a hairy vodka.

    • Crazy credits
The usual episode credits for executive producer, writers, and director appear at the end of the show rather than the usual beginning. As they appear, Lisa remarks to Oliver about their lateness and says the fellow who is supposed to put them on at the start must have fallen asleep. Right after that, the closing credits are incomplete in that Tom Lester is missing. Lester plays Eb Dawson, the subject of this particular episode.
