    Uh...no.

Normally I quite like Dick Sargent, and Sue Ane Langdon sometimes, along with some of the other guest stars but, not this one, at all. They made her character so insanely irritating that I was glad to have her simply shut up or just off the screen. Plus, I think the character Mr Sargent played was bothersome in his way, too. Not as much as her, though.

I normally like the less serious episoes well enough but, not when the stories are too far-fetched, and when the characters unnerving and just outright whiny, spoiled, and irritating.

The only thing that made this tolerable was, as usual, being able to watch the regulars. I liked how they had Matt more bored than anything with Kate's attempt at flirting. And, Frank Sutton. He's always good.

    A real Dodge City stinker

A good ending for the show would have been if Marshal Dillon pulled his six gun and shot the two main characters. This is a totally vacuous piece of drivel, with barely a plot and a contrived ending. The two main characters were annoying as a root canal. He was too dumb for belief and she had the most grating harpy voice ever. Not even Dillon could fix the crappy writing. I wonder how this script could have survived not being used in a Dodge City privy. The good thing about this episode was its closing credits.

    What's a Catawomper?

Gunsmoke started to occasionally inject the comedy episode as part of its format, but for this show I use the term lightly, as not a whole lot funny about it. Not much I can say here that other GS followers haven't already said. I guess I could employ the use of synonyms to word it differently from the way other people have described this episode.

Their term wretched: my term hideous Their term unwatchable: my term pointless Their term drivel: my term tripe Their term grating: my term excruciating Their term obnoxious: my term rubbish Their term Vacuous: my term, can't think of a good synonym here so I will just say worthless.

Fave episodes in order this ranks 635

    This was goofy for Gunsmoke.

No fan of Dick Sergent on any program ever, so this made a very goofy episode unwatchable.

If you don't value your time then this one is fine for you.

    Stupid

Since when did "Gunsmoke" become a so-called comedy? This episode is dreadful, even worse than "Bonanza" supposed comedies. Terrible acting and story. Hard to believe this is from the "Gunsmoke" series. I suggest you don't waste your time on this.
