Interesting Parallels to the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election

Registered student Arthur Dunsetter remains away from the college and Hank (Dick Kallman) continues to assume his identity in order to learn higher education material. Dean Royal (Howard St. John) has a new plan to crack down on unregistered students. He is using upperclassmen to ferret out the unregistered students. Hank suspects he is caught and takes off running, hurdling over Track Coach Ossie Weiss' car, who now seeks to find Arthur Dunsetter for the team. The student body is tired of fraternities controlling college politics and wants Dunsetter to run for president. He's an appealing candidate to them as he doesn't belong to any special interest fraternities and "the only man to put a stop to political bossism". He is even more of a popular candidate after instead of pandering to any given crowd with whatever they want to hear, he is frank, earning the labels of "honest" with a lot of "integrity". His girlfriend Doris (Linda Foster) tells him, "They're not used to a candidate being so outspoken. It's refreshing to hear someone take a clear stance." (51 years later, it's still a fresh plot, as that's what the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election showed.) In this episode, however, Dunsetter is an unwilling candidate and at a press conference tries to say all the wrong things to lose support. Hank soon comically finds that he is actually making all the right moves.
