This one was a favorite of mine!

I don't think I've seen this episode since it was first run, but certain scenes were committed to my memory. I think I liked this one in particular because it was so Shaun-centered. He was the whole reason I watched the show, after all. I remember even as a pre-teen being skeptical about the year-long coma, especially since he showed no ill effects such as speech or mobility problems, and his hair was still perfectly coiffed! Despite the plot holes, this episode held my interest, and it's still one of my favorites. IMDB says I need to add more characters, so I'll just say I got a chuckle out of seeing James Hong in this episode. Every time I see him in anything, I think of his character on Seinfeld in the Chinese restaurant. "Seinfeld, four!"

    • Trivia
The second fake newscast mentions the fall of the Ugandan dictator Idi Amin in October 1978, three months before Joe's supposed awakening from his coma in January 1979. Amin did fall from power in 1979, though a few months later than "predicted." He was overthrown on April 11, 1979 when Tanzania invaded Uganda.
    • Goofs
When the Ford ambulance carrying Joe turns into the hospital driveway you can see it has 2 steering wheels, one on the right and one on the left. The person sitting behind the left hand steering wheel is dressed in a black ninja outfit with only the middle of their face showing.

Fenton Hardy: [holding up a videotape] And this is how they did your newscast. They hid this machine in the chest. Now watch.

[He clicks the remote and the video plays on the TV screen]

      Joe Hardy: It's unbelievable.
