"Bitter Harvest"

Bleak doesn't begin to describe "Bitter Harvest", which is the best 'Heartbeat' episode to date, and will surely be one of the best the show will ever put to air.

Great acting from all involved. Nick Berry, Bill Maynard, Derek Fowlds all rose to the occasion. James Hazeldine as Reg Manston...wow. Brilliant. An epic performance.

Watch "Bitter Harvest" and good luck not thinking about the heartbreaking last five or so minutes whenever you hear The Moody Blues epic "Nights in White Satin." Impossible to do.

Just despondent stuff.

About the only good thing is the first appearance (of many) for Tricia Penrose as Gina Ward, George's niece. Talk about making an entrance.
