The actor, Kevin Smith, who plays Hercules' god half-brother Ares, plays Hercules' human half-brother Iphicles elsewhere in the series. In the first season of "Hercules", Ares possessed other people's bodies or was depicted in spirit form like Hera. Smith's Ares finally first appeared in Xena: Warrior Princess (1995).

Goofs
The rolling end credits include "To order a Hind of your own call 1-800-55-HIND" That fictitious phone number lacks a digit. For the gag to be credible, it should be 1-800-555-HIND.
