Queen Camilla's role is similar to that of Calpurnia in William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. Calpurnia dreams that her husband, Gaio Giulio Cesare, will be murdered at the Senate on 15 March. Caesar himself half-believes her, and simply decides to let fate decide whether his death is necessary. The Senators who are conspiring to commit the murder, find ways to dismiss and discredit her statements as ridiculous, leading Caesar into their trap.
