Iolaus often trying to help the weaker see an armed group beating up in a sole man, at once he enters in the fight to aid the hopeless man, after exhaustive struggles Iolaus got set free the victim that holds a box full of jewels, the unknown man got a precious red diamond and disappears, soon Iolaus figures out that he help a famous thief called Autolycus (Campbell) thus he will be accused of connivance and after a brief judgement he will sentenced to die in few hours, Hercules appears and introduces himself to the cunning King Menelaus, claiming innocence of his buddy, then King Menelaus assures to Hercules that according the law his friend will be a best defense-lawyer of the country the clumsy Dirce, actually his daughter.
Hercules asking to Dirce postpone the trial aiming for bring the real thief to there to prove Iolaus's innocence, what Hercules didn't known that Autolycus never was taken on trial, he own boast himself to be untamed, Although Hercules finds him at forest, it doesn't mean an easy assignment, Autolycus has some gadgets that gives a chance to escape fast as he can, thus Hercules lead him at a forsaken and crumbled castle nearby, there they find out a huge treasure, to easy Hercules wondering himself why so priceless treasure is available there, what's a catch? Soon they find out themselves a big snake is the keeper of the teasure, they must get out of there right away.
In the meantime Dirce points out several laws to postpone the trial, in hoping Hercules got enough time to catch Autolycus back, one the best episode so far, stuffed of humor, when Iolaus has let to prove by three hard tests, if maintaining alive he is declared not guilty, wait a minute another catch comes along.
