Ranger Clint Travis is sent to investigate a lynching.

Mary Bringham is suspicious that her husband a preacher has been murdered.

The Reverend Bringham tried to stop to native Indians from being wrongly hanged as horse thieves by a lynch mob. They killed the minister as well.

The Sheriff was too scared to stop them.

Travis learns that there was more to the lynching. There was something going on in a mine at the edge of town. The Indians and maybe even the Reverend might have discovered some skullduggery.

A story told with some economy. A twist and a story of redemption for one person. The local journalist had an interesting story to publish.

Classic lynching story with a twist

In this episode, we see a crude lynching involving two Indians deemed guilty by the citizens and a minister who tried to stop the lynch mob. All three were hung by a bunch of drunks who rushed the sheriff of the town, then when they became sober were ashamed of their actions and tried to hide it.

Unfortunately for these citizens, the minister was married to a young woman who was worried something had happened. Travis went to investigate.

It's a classic story of a lynch mob with a twist: this time they also kill a minis. The results are what would be expected and nothing more. Unfortunately there are more casualties before all is said and done - and not all the dead are bad guys.
