Kathy Bates earned an Emmy Nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her role. Her character is similar to her character from Misery (1990), which earned her an Oscar. Both are a "Number One Fan" that later turns out to be a psycho killer.

Goofs
When Nina tosses her sweater, it lands on the ground. Next time it is seen, it's atop the credenza, presumably with no one having picked it up (although Mary could have).
