    An ironical twist

This was one weird episode from 77 Sunset Strip. Efrem Zimbalist goes half way around the world on behalf of a pair of silly twit clients with affected English accents. Their very rich uncle from Oklahoma sent them to school in the UK and they really took to it.

They hire Zimbalist to get a vase back which may or may not be valuable. A whole lot of people want it like Don Gordon, Berry Kroeger, and Liliane Montevecchi. As for Zimbalist he goes from LA to South America, to Algeria and back.

The climax is laced with irony when clients David Frankham and Lisa Davis finally tell Zimbalist why they wanted the vase back. Given what happens to it, the ending is one of the most ironical twists I've ever seen big and small.

    Weird, but fun.

    Another kind of perfume

For once, the atmosphere here was quite different. Just because a large part of the episode takes in other settings than LA. During his investigation about swindle in art stuff, our lead character is drugged abducted and brought to North Africa. So you see, the producers made a effort here, to change the locations. I would say it's quite entertaining but not exceptional, far from that. Don Gordon is surprising as the local heavy character. And the One and Thousand Nights atmosphere is surprising but also maybe overplayed and not one minute believable. But who cares, after all?

I have never heard of the director. Probably a guy who made only TV stuff.
