Interesting Nostalgia

This curious show from the mid-60s was directed by a young Ridley Scott is both a spy spoof and a retro period piece. A mysterious series of deaths of influential, but mostly unknown government bureaucrats leads Adam Adamant to a club he knew well in his past life. Now run by a women's charity organization, they refuse to allow him access. No problem--his sexy blonde sidekick is ready to don a sexy maid costume and help out.

Whether this is a direct or indirect inspiration for some iconic characters, I don't know, but I suspect not only the obvious inspiration for later frozen spy spoof Austin Powers, as well as the inspiration--in name, at least--for 80s New Wave legend Adam Ant.

Well worth watching as a curious relic of the swinging 60s.
