    Pugsley and the Gorilla

This episode should have been called "Pugsley and the Gorilla," since that's the focus of it. The Ladies League plays such a minuscule role in it, taking up less than four minutes of screen time, it shouldn't even have been included as a plot element. The gorilla performance, by George Barrows, is lively, clever and funny and dominates the action in the piece. Pugsley's initial interactions with it at the circus are hilarious. It's nice to see Pugsley get such a large chunk of screen time. Lurch's jealousy of the increasing role the gorilla takes in household chores after it has followed Pugsley home and been adopted by the family is also amusing and allows Lurch to play a greater role in the narrative as well. The Ladies League should have been left out of it entirely.

    Pugsley's New Pet

Gomez takes Pugsley to the circus and the boy makes friends with Gorgo the gorilla.

An amusing episode. Gorgo follows Pugsley home and he stays with the Addams. Lurch becomes a bit jealous as Gorgo takes over some of his duties. Morticia invites two women from the Ladies League, hoping to join their club. Funniest scene is when Gorgo tries to serve them tea.

    • Trivia
The gorilla's name Gorgo is a Greek word meaning dreadful or frightening. It is the root of the names Gorgon which is a mythical creature portrayed in ancient Greek literature of three sisters, Stheno, Euryale, and Medusa, with snakes for hair, who had the power to turn anyone who looked at them to stone. and Gorgosaurus which is a genus of tyrannosaurid theropod dinosaur that lived in western North America during the Late Cretaceous Period, between about 76.6 and 75.1 million years ago..
    • Goofs
Just before Gorgo bends the bars on his cage, he accidentally hits the bars with the backs of his hands and they shake like rubber, showing they are fake bars.
    • Quotes

Gomez Addams: How long have you owned the circus?

Oscar Webber: Oh, I bought it three years ago, but this past season everything's gone wrong. The fat lady fell in love. Couldn't eat. Couldn't sleep. Lost two hundred and forty pounds.

Gomez Addams: That could be noticeable.

Oscar Webber: Then Marvin the midget... He got himself on a vitamin kick. Little punk started growing again.

      Gomez Addams: Oh, no.

Oscar Webber: Yeah. I went along with it for awhile, but when he hit five feet eight, I had to fire him.

Gomez Addams: Five feet eight. Had you thought of billing him as the world's tallest midget?
