The Leper's Kiss

As this episode opens Dylan receives an ultra-secret communication from another of the New Commonwealth's founders. It turns out an assassin known as 'The Leper' is intending to kill him and he wants Dylan to identify The Leper and stop him before it is too late... he has seventy two hours. He sets off on the Eureka Maru with Beka and Tyr, telling them almost nothing about the mission: everything is need to know. Their first port of call is a drift where they pose as associates of The Leper looking for help for a hit. This lures out his sister, Sasha, who wants to see him dead. Together they set off to find the one man who can get then onto the planet where the hit is due to take place... it won't be easy though.

This was a decent enough episode with some fun action scenes and some fun, if not exactly surprising twists. In many ways it feels like a heist story although rather than a robbery they are trying to catch a killer as they must go through various steps to get the people they need to help. Sarah Deakins does a solid job as Sasha and Michael Hogan is entertaining as her associate Crescent. The action is nicely varied as one has come to expect from 'Andromeda' and we get some fun guest characters although I do have to wonder if it is strictly necessary for Dylan to end up kissing every beautiful woman he meets... perhaps this is a nod to 'Star Trek's' Captain Kirk! Overall I'd say this wasn't a classic episode but it was still rather fun.
