    Merely A Good Episode!

We are now speeding towards the end of Arrested Development's first season. It's been a season full of weirdness and comedy and every episode is memorable....even this episode. I say it like that because outside of one hilarious subplot, I was not able to recall much about this episode. What I do remember that we have a bunch of visual gags, the whole plotline where Tobias and family are in band designed to sell pharmaceuticals which had me rolling in stitches, and George Sr. entrusting GOB to set up a fake murder because he believes Michael is 'no fun." The episode also is noticeable for speeding up the wife of GOB's (played by Amy Poehler) exit. I find it funny how much he enjoys Tobias's band by saying, "It's like you knew every side effect I went through."

In "Best Man for the GOB," Michael decides to throw a post-wedding bachelor party for GOB and his still unnamed wife. The family (except for Lindsay) are all up in adoration over her (Lucille says, "I have always wanted a daughter! And a blonde! How fun!"). George Sr. decides to use this party to intimidate the Bluth's accountant, Ira Gilligan who wants to spill secrets. So George wants to use GOB to use a fake murder scheme and blame Ira for the murder so he can go into hiding. We are also introduced to Dr. Funke's 100% Natural Good-Time Family Band Solution- a band with hippie clothing and a message to sell drugs.

Overall, there are quite some funny gags and I especially like the storyline involving Tobias's band. We see a rather cute flashback of the band featuring young Maeby and how Tobias is now resurrecting the band. What is really funny is how George-Michael tries to join the band with the woodblock. As for the other parts of the episode, Michael attempts to take George-Michael on a fishing trip and he thinks it is punishment and George Sr. keeps mistaking Ira's name as IRS. In a season of strong episodes, this is only a good episode.
