    Maggie Lizer, please go away

I already ripped apart the character in my review of the last episode, and I stand by everything I said. Maggie being recycled for a plotline derivative of her first is a waste of everyone's time. Add to that her general unlikeability and it makes for some excruciating TV every time we see how stupid Michael acts in regard to her. Yes, he has a weakness for women, but why this one? She is so horrible that it's honestly baffling.

Buster's hilarity in the scene where they visit him in the hospital is so funny that it boosts this one from a 3 to a 6. The rest is AD at its worst. I love the show but I just was not feeling this episode.

    • Trivia
When George Sr. (Jeffrey Tambor) is at the Ford dealership, the salesman tells him that the Bronco has been discontinued to try to shed the whole "fugitive on the run" image. This is a reference to O.J. Simpson, who fled from the police in a white Bronco. While the salesman is making the fugitive on the run comment, George is sitting in a Ford Escape and an inflatable tube man can be seen in the background with a withered left arm. Simpson is referenced again in the hospital when Lucille (Jessica Walter) yells "Get my son the juice!" "The Juice" was the former running back's most well-known nickname.
    • Goofs
In "Not Without my Daughter", Officers Carter and Taylor are portrayed as having daughters. In "Hand to God", they are two gay cops trying to have a child.
    • Quotes

Lucille: [the family is waiting for news on Buster from a very literal doctor] How's my son?

The Literal Doctor: He's going to be all right.

Lindsay Funke: Finally some good news from this guy.

George Michael Bluth: There's no other way to take that.

The Literal Doctor: That's a great attitude. I got to tell you, if I was getting this news, I don't know that I'd take it this well.

Lucille: But you said he was all right.

The Literal Doctor: Yes, he's lost his left hand. So he's going to be "all right."

Lucille: [Jumping on the doctor] You son of a bitch. I hate this doctor.

Lindsay Funke: How do we keep getting this guy?

Michael: Mom, he's a very literal man.

The Literal Doctor: Yes, that's more the way I would take the news.
